Reception Children Settling Brilliantly into Life at Westbrook Old Hall

Our Reception children have made a wonderful start to their journey at Westbrook Old Hall, and we are incredibly proud of how well they have settled into school life.

Over the past few weeks, the children have embraced new routines, formed new friendships and approached each day with enthusiasm, confidence and excitement. They have quickly become familiar with classroom expectations and have shown growing independence as they explore their learning environment and take part in a wide range of activities.

One of the highlights has been seeing the children make the most of our outdoor learning areas. They have loved getting creative in the mud kitchen, developing their imagination through role play and exploration. The children have also enjoyed creating beautiful transient art using natural materials, demonstrating creativity, teamwork and excellent problem-solving skills.

Inside the classroom, our Reception pupils have developed a real enthusiasm for reading. The cosy reading area has been a firm favourite, with children enjoying stories together and independently exploring a range of exciting books. It has been wonderful to see their love of reading begin to flourish so early in their school journey.

Throughout their first few weeks, the children have impressed staff with their kindness, curiosity and willingness to try new things. They have built positive relationships with their classmates and teachers, helping to create a happy, caring and supportive learning environment.

We would also like to thank our parents and carers for their support during this important transition. By working together, we have helped ensure that every child feels happy, safe and ready to learn.

We are delighted with the fantastic start our Reception children have made and look forward to watching them continue to grow, learn and thrive throughout the year. Well done, Reception, on such a successful start to life at Westbrook Old Hall! 🌟📚🎨🍃
