Saving energy has been the focus of pupils at Westbrook Old Hall Primary School, with a number of activities and initiatives taking place to help make a difference.

In preparation for Energy Saving Week, the school held an assembly with a focus on saving energy to reduce pollution, the global energy crisis and also the cost-of-living crisis.

The children and teachers spoke about ways to save energy and each class now has a lights monitor, a TV monitor or an energy monitor. Their jobs are to make sure that lights, TV and other devices are switched off, to make sure energy is not wasted.

Some of the children suggested that they were going to spend less time on their electronic devices and do something that doesn't use energy instead!

As part of their PSHE lesson, Year 6 also expressed their concern for society by producing posters to inform others about the energy crisis.

Energy Saving Week is a national campaign with the aim to help and encourage people to save energy while cutting down on fuel costs.

The event was created in partnership with Citizen's Advice, the Energy Saving Trust and the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

Great work everyone!
