Pupils get creative with end of term DT Projects
Children across Westbrook Old Hall Primary School have been showcasing their creativity and practical skills through a variety of Design and Technology (DT) projects.
From baking to crafting, the hands-on activities provided an engaging and enjoyable way for pupils to end the term.
Children demonstrated their culinary skills by baking delicious treats, while Year 2 pupils prepared colourful fruit kebabs. These projects allowed children to explore food preparation techniques while also learning about healthy eating.
Meanwhile, classrooms were transformed into festive workshops as children crafted a range of seasonal decorations and cards. The activities encouraged teamwork, fine motor skills, and creativity.
Adding a historical twist to their DT curriculum, Year 5 pupils took on the challenge of building Viking Longboats. As part of the project, the children needed to think about the design of the shields, sail and dragon head carefully to make sure the boats looked intimidating . A strong structure was also need to meet the design brief.
Using a variety of materials, the children then constructed their own models, learning about the features of these iconic ships and the history behind them.
The DT projects have been a fantastic way for children to develop new skills, apply their learning, and take pride in their creations.
Well done to everyone for their hard work and creative achievements this term!
