On 18th August 2023, Helen Good, one of our fabulous Early Years Teaching Assistants will be flying to Malawi to take part in some voluntary work, teaching pre-school and reception children.

Helen has been working at Westbrook Old Hall for 17 years and we know that many of you will have been taught by her and we are sure you have many fond memories of your time spent with her.

Helen is teaming up with ‘Changing Stars Malawi’ (www.changingstarsmalawi.org) whose aim is to educate so that children have choices in how they live their lives and are not constrained by the hardships of the life they face. They aim to provide guidance, experience and time, in order to ensure a sustainable impact in the projects they undertake. Helen is hoping to raise money, in advance of her visit, to buy some educational resources to help the children’s learning and foster an enriching environment – many of these resources are things that we take for granted in our every day lives.
