What a brilliant time we’ve had today, celebrating the coronation of King Charles III. We hope that the children have all had a wonderful time, making memories of a historic event.

Highlights of the day!

In Year 3, the children have done some brilliant artwork, using King Charles' favourite materials - watercolours. The children had put in a lot of effort, and we were blown away by the results. The paintings depicted various scenes from King Charles’ life!

In Year 4, the children have prepared time capsules to commemorate the event. They have filled them with items and memorabilia that represented the day and the time they live in. They have also played old-fashioned playground games including hopscotch and noughts and crosses. The children had a great time, and it was a refreshing break from our usual tasks.

The children in Year 5 have created life-sized portraits of King Charles and Queen Camilla. They have used a variety of materials, and the attention to detail is superb.

Our picnic

At lunchtime, we had a fantastic picnic lunch, but as the field was damp, it was moved to the hall. This did not dampen anyone’s spirits, with the children enjoying their sandwiches and snacks, and the atmosphere was filled with excitement.

Coronation Assembly

Later in the day, we enjoyed a fabulous coronation assembly, and a huge thank you to Alfie, Zara, Luke, Bella, Sophia, Evie, Chloe, Mason and Charlotte for their fabulous performances. We enjoyed some wonderful songs from the choir and waved our flags around merrily!

We hope that everyone has had a brilliant day and have learned a lot about the history and traditions of the country. The event was a testament to the creativity and hard work of the teachers and children, and it will be remembered for years to come.
