Westbrook Old Hall Primary School is excited to announce that we are investing in a brand new outdoor space for our Early Years pupils. We are committed to providing high-quality learning experiences our students and we recognise the importance of outdoor play and learning for young children.

A task force with representatives from Westbrook Old Hall Primary, OMEGA Multi Academy Trust and our appointed contractors met today to discuss and finalise plans for the space’s transformation. Mary Lythall-Brennan, Headteacher, commented, ‘’We recognise the importance of providing children with opportunities to learn through play and exploration and we are committed to providing the best possible environment for them to do so.’’

The new outdoor space will be specifically designed with the needs of our Early Years children in mind. It will provide them with a range of stimulating activities that will promote their physical, social, and emotional development. The outdoor space will include a variety of different areas, such as a performance area where children can express themselves, an immersive garden experience where children can learn about the natural environment, a reading area to help foster a life long love of literature, a physical area where children can challenge themselves, a sand pit to dig and discover and a water-wall to explore.

We are committed to creating an outdoor space that is not only fun and engaging but is also safe and secure. The space will be fully enclosed to ensure that children are kept safe at all times. The design will also take into account the range of needs of all of our children, ensuring that everyone can access and enjoy the space.

The works to create the new outdoor space will take place over the summer holiday, ready for the space to be used from September. We are very excited about the potential for the new outdoor space and the positive impact it will have on the children's learning and development.
