Every Friday at Westbrook Old Hall Primary School, a small but significant tradition takes place during the school's celebration assembly. Golden Apples, are awarded to children who have performed acts of kindness throughout the week, showcasing the school's commitment to promoting positive behaviour. We celebrate these children as our role models.

We believe that it is important to teach our children the importance of being kind to others and making a positive impact in the school community.

During the Friday celebration assembly, which is attended by students, teachers, and parents, Mrs Lythall-Brennan takes the floor and calls out the names of the students who have been nominated for a golden apple. The nominations come from both teachers and fellow students who have witnessed acts of kindness, such as helping a classmate with their homework, showing empathy towards a friend in need, or volunteering to clean up the playground. The chosen students then come up to the stage, where they are presented with a golden apple badge which they can wear for the week.

As the Friday celebration assembly comes to a close, the students proudly wear their golden apples, knowing that their acts of kindness have not gone unnoticed. With smiles on their faces, they are motivated to continue spreading kindness and making a positive impact in their school and community, one golden apple at a time.

We believe that kindness is contagious and has the power to create a positive ripple effect in our school. The Golden Apples are just one small way for us to recognise and encourage acts of kindness among our students, and we are proud to celebrate the wonderful attitude that our students show each and every day.

Our Golden Apples have become a cherished symbol at Westbrook Old Hall, with students eagerly anticipating the Friday assembly and the possibility of being awarded one.

Congratulations to everyone who was awarded a Golden Apple today! Thank you for being a wonderful role model in our school.
