The Early Help process aims to support a family as a whole. A Lead Professional (from our School Safeguarding Team, Fiona Perry or Cass Williams) is assigned to the family after they have agreed to participate in the process. An Early Help Assessment is carried out to formulate an action plan which will best support the family needs moving forwards. A Team Around the Family Meeting is then held every 6 weeks to review the action plan. Family members and any professionals who are supporting the family are invited to contribute and attend. Support offered may involve referrals to outside agencies and help with completion of paperwork for referrals. Once the family members and professionals feel that the needs of the family have been successfully met, the closure paperwork is completed. At any time, the family can close to Early Help or be escalated to Social Care involvement. If a family have support from a Family Support or Children’s Centre Worker, they will act as Lead Professional in the Early Help process.
