Re: World Book Day – Thursday 2nd March 2023

For World Book Day, we will be having a ‘bedtime stories/relaxed reading’ theme this year. So, you’ve guessed it, the children can come to school wearing their cosiest pyjamas/onsies/lounge wear etc. and bring in their favourite book to share.

The children will immerse themselves in a variety of activities throughout the day, but the two main events will be a book swap and a pastoral care afternoon. The book swap will be an excellent opportunity to get a different book and during the afternoon the children will share their favourite story with their group.

To make a success out of the book swap, we ask that your child brings in a book suitable for their age group (in good condition) to donate to the book swap. For each book they bring, they will get a token to use, which will enable them to choose a different book from the swap. Children can start to bring in the books from Monday 27th February and last donations on Wednesday 1st March. This will ensure that all children bringing a book will receive a new one in the swap.

We are really excited about sharing our love of reading in this way, and we cannot wait to share the children’s stories with them.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Kindest regards

The Reading Team
